Your role
Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Support adults with disabilities through therapy and training, enhancing communication and independence via NDIS, DSOA, and other funding systems.
- Provide expert consultation and collaboration with professionals, including Able Australia staff and the local community, on speech pathology and support strategies.
- Engage in creative planning for client service plans, case conferences, and team meetings to develop innovative solutions.
- Ensure effective NDIS billing by aligning efforts with clients' NDIA plans.
- Uphold ethical practices in client care, legal compliance, and professional conduct.
- Mentor staff and share knowledge in speech pathology, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) and be a Certified Practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Ability to deliver speech pathology services in person and via telehealth for individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of current treatment practices, therapy programs, and augmentative communication, with a commitment to professional development.
- Experience in reflective practice and engaging in supervision.
- Skills in providing training and support to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in tracking and billing time in a Client Management System (CMS).
- Ability to communicate assessed needs clearly and ensure legal compliance.
