    Your role:

    We're seeking an experienced and motivated human resource professional to take up the role of HR Manager Retention and Transition. Working in the office of Navy People Branch, Canberra, you'll apply your expertise in the stimulating and unique workplace that is the Royal Australian Navy.

    Working in the office of Navy People Branch, Canberra, you'll be able to apply your expertise in the stimulating and unique workplace that is the Royal Australian Navy.

    In this role, you will assist with Navy recruiting, retention and transition by coordinating a range of activities, with the primary goal of developing staff retention initiatives in order to reduce workforce capability impacts. You will become the primary point of contact for all retention matters within the Navy. Other duties may include record keeping retention initiatives, as well as reviewing, analysing and monitoring the effectiveness of these activities.

    As with most Navy roles, there may be times where you will be working at sea onboard a Navy ship — definitely a part of the job you won't find in a traditional office environment.

    Best of all, you can join through the Mid-Career Entry (MCE) avenue, meaning your past experience will be recognised with a higher pay grade and rank via a three-year fixed engagement period with the Navy.

    Salary:

    Upon appointment, you will enjoy a competitive salary package, pending your experience, up to $125,397 including service and uniform allowance.

    In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care. This role is based in Canberra, ACT, and relocation assistance is available should you not reside in this location.

The ideal applicant will hold a bachelor's in human resources and/or business, plus possess experience in the development of staff retention initiatives and workforce capability. Further education such as a master's in human resources or an AHRI Practising Certificate are desired.
