I am expected to engineer with additional oversight and support appropriate for a graduate.

Role: Electrical engineer Day-to-day responsibilities: - Investigate and implement innovative solutions to meet client’s commitments. - Prepare plans, layouts, and designs with supporting calculations and specifications. This includes creating cable schedules by adhering to client electrical design criteria, considering installation requirements (such as space available in switchboard, length of cable, site conditions and existing cable routes), and calculating required cable size using relevant Australian standards. This also includes liaising with our multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and clients for optimal equipment and instrumentation selection, while adhering to the client preferences and specifications. - Support construction activities in multi-disciplinary projects and conduct quality assurance activities. - Commissioning and performance testing on site. This involves safe, on-time, on-budget delivery of our projects, making the assets operational for prime performance. - Continuous improvement of design systems and tools

Assisting with process designs, calculations and drawings.

For the most part the work in each of my rotation has given my good experience in different aspects of the business. Sometimes I felt overworked if project resources were slim as I worked across multiple projects and didn't feel as if I was doing things necessarily related to my discipline or that fit my job description.

Dealing with request for quotations, project engineering

Good involvement in major projects. Good team.

Mostly assisting senior engineers with what is required for the project. This has ranged from design, to procurement, to project engineering.

As a grad I have been involved with delivery technical services to people on site. This has included collaborating with people on site to find solutions to occurring issues and going through appropriate procedures to implement them. I have also been involved with project quality and completions team.

Planning job scopes (Hours, Materials and job stops), Technical Query tracking/writing and Fabrication tracking

Software Engineer (review and implement new features for the Integra product).

I am working on designs that form part of my community. As a graduate I was given the chance to work on various systems and deliver several designs. Day-to-day we develop design, co-ordinate with other teams, manage stakeholders and consult with the site teams who implement our designs.

Environmental monitoring in the field of pollution, governmental license and client relationship

I am assigned to assist with engineer to handle all MVAC issues in site.

I am responsible for correcting shop drawings, conducting excavation inspections every morning, helping provide drawings to permit holders, making construction method statements, and ensuring that the drawings used in the field are the latest drawings

I really like the rotation programme, the hours as a CA are good. Prefer the day to day of a site engineer but not the hours

I have worked in oil & gas, power generation and in the rail sector. In 2 years I have worked as a Project Controls Engineer, Project Engineer, Site Engineer and now I am being trained to become a Project Manager in the future.
