GHD's Tunnels and Geotechnics Business Group is seeking a talented and enthusiastic graduate to join our team in 2021. We are a diverse group of engineers and engineering geologists, working on a huge range of projects form major road and rail transport projects, to solar and wind energy projects and pumped hydro schemes. As a graduate geotechnical engineer you will be given the opportunity to plan and undertake site investigations, develop skills in geotechnical modelling, design and reporting, all with the support and mentorship of our experienced Technical Directors. We work on projects across Queensland and further afield and you will have opportunities to travel to place you have never heard of before and work with truly interesting characters.

This position offers:

  • Wide variety of fieldwork opportunities, with varying methods of investigation across many places throughout QLD and beyond
  • Assist senior geologists/engineers with large scale ground modelling for large exciting projects like Cross River Rail and Inland Rail tender
  • Analysis and design of many interesting structures and their ground components – deep ground shafts, tunnels, cut slopes, embankment slopes, bridges, retaining walls, dams
  • Ability to be involved in large scale, multi-disciplinary projects within QLD and beyond
  • The geotechnical and geological world is complex, and each opportunity brings a new learning experience.

The recruitment process
