To help facilitate transitions into our Graduate program, our internship experience is designed for students in their penultimate year. 

Who are we looking for? 

We are looking for students in their final year of a Bachelor or post-graduate qualification with availability to work 2 to 3 days a week during university semester. We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering student to work as an acoustics and environmental noise specialist in our Environmental Approvals team.

What will you do in the role? 

  • Assist in the preparation of studies relating to industrial and transportation noise, wind farm noise, underwater acoustics and building acoustics.
  • Conduct noise and vibration monitoring at locations primarily across Southern Queensland and Northern Australia.
  • Work with large amounts of data and noise modelling software including SoundPLAN and CadNA.
  • Preparation of technical reports and assisting in writing of tenders & proposals.
  • Work closely with the broader team of acoustics and noise professionals from our Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and Perth offices.

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Will graduate at the end of the year with a degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Are passionate about solving technical challenges for our clients
  • Have strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with any of the following is desirable: Python, R, Matlab
  • Experience handling spatial data with GIS program (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS) is desirable.
