Please describe the interview process and assessments.
relative to others it is very similar, we do, do help out with cool things like Young Enterprise Scheme, a youth program for high school students where we host a group at one of our offices and the team helps them complete challenges over a weekend

They conducted the interview and assessments in a convenient manner.

The interview process was very straight forward and simple. I completed and online application attaching my CV and completing some basic questions. I then completed an online assessment and recorded some shot clip about myself. After being selected I completed and in-person interview which I found enjoyable, it was more relaxed and conversational. I found that I was able to my true self in the interview.

- Online Application - Psychometric Testing (Verbal, Numerical, Abstract) & Video Interview - Face-to-Face interview with Managers within the team you applied for - Offer! - Short and sweet - only 1 interview (most firms I applied to have 2 interviews)

I had an interview with a manager and a partner and it was really not that daunting. They are quite down to earth.

What questions were you asked in your interviews?
I was part of a pilot where they wanted to see if interns worked in their business, so interview was very relaxed
Intermediate 1, Wellington - 13 Sep 2024
I was asked questions about university and my work style. Also about some of my hobbies and what I enjoyed to do outside of work. They asked questions about why I chose the service line.

What do I know about Grant Thornton - Why did you choose GT - Why did you choose BAS - Here are the values of GT - tell me about a time you demonstrated some of these values - tell me about a time when you faced a conflict / when a manager gave you feedback

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Be friendly and keen to get into the mahi
Intermediate 1, Wellington - 13 Sep 2024
Research the company and service line a bit. I found that was the only thing I need to prepare for. Otherwise they ask simple and standard interview questions that the majority people will be able to answer

- Have a look at the company's website and their values - think about times where you demonstrated those values (actually make sure your values align with the company - this will make the process easier) - Think about why you applied to this particular firm, in this particular role/service line and how you can articulate that to your interviewers. - Do prepare, but don't memorise your answers, or you'll come across as a robot! Think of it as an informal conversation with a relative, where they're trying to know you, and you're trying to know them better. - This is a two-way street: Ask questions to your interviewers as well as the interview goes, not just at the end!
