We were lucky enough to have most of the team in Sydney for a big HPE event, so we got to have what is usually a virtual meeting in person. We heard about the latest news and relevant updates from the team, along with some fun games to keep everyone engaged.

Alarm goes off. I hit snooze. Second alarm goes off and then I stumble out of bed. I get ready within 30 minutes and then I’m out the door to either drive to Sydney or catch the train. Today I caught the train, and, on my way, I checked my calendar and emails for any updates as our days and weeks are excitingly varied and seldom the same.

It’s a Wednesday so I arrive at our office in the Sydney CBD. But on other days, such as Tuesday, I will go to our other office in Rhodes. Once at the office, I catch up with the other grads and fellow colleagues for a debrief on the past day and the weekend antics.

After checking emails and doing some work, we had a meeting with a strategic partner, followed by a much-awaited coffee run. These coffee runs are a great chance to talk and connect with your colleagues and managers, giving you some informal time to chat.

After doing some more work, we headed to one of the conference rooms for the channel team meeting. We were lucky enough to have most of the team in Sydney for a big HPE event, so we got to have what is usually a virtual meeting in person. We heard about the latest news and relevant updates from the team, along with some fun games to keep everyone engaged.

After the sales meeting, everyone is usually hungry and ready for lunch so we headed off to one of the nearby centers to grab some food. This is another great chance to chat and socialize with colleagues in a more relaxed setting.

After lunch, it’s now time to get back on the train as I have been lucky enough to be invited to a large IT summit held at a Royal Randwick racecourse where I heard about the latest and greatest tech from around the industry presented by vendors, distributors, and partners alike. HPE sponsored this event and had speakers presenting as well as a booth where attendees could interact with us and HPE tech.

After hearing and learning a lot from the brilliant presentations at the event, the other Sydney grads and I decided to go out for some after work dinner and drinks at Korean BBQ. It was great getting to get together and chat about work and life in general. It felt more like a catchup with friends than colleagues. This is probably the highlight of my graduate experience at HPE overall, all the wonderful people I have been able to meet and forge new relationships with.

After a very long day, I finally get home. Get ready for bed, either read or watch TV and then lights out. luckily, I get a little sleep in tomorrow as I’m working from home the next day.
