My role is in corporate, working alongside the business to support them in delivering sustainability initiatives. My role is collaborative - to provide assistance where asked, and also to implement group-wide projects. This includes volunteering, our Reconciliation Action Plan, sustainability reporting. There are other wonderful elements to my role, but these would be the key areas.

Pros and cons of working at Mirvac

Pros

  • Mirvac offers graduates the opportunity to be trained and mentored by industry leaders. This, along with gender equality amongst divisions, diversity and inclusion - is the reasons why I have been inspired to continue working in the industry I am in. are all factors that influenced my decision to grow in the development industry.

  • Flexibility Supportive workplace My team is experienced and are very supportive and helpful

  • The flexibility and work/life balance.

  • Flexible arrangements, everyone is very down to earth, management open to improving old processes.

  • I love working at Mirvac for the support I receive from all those around me - leaders and colleagues alike. I'm fortunate to have regular, constructive conversations about opportunities for learning and development. I also enjoy the opportunity to learn about all areas of the business. Though I'm in a corporate function I have regular exposure to the construction, office and industrial, retail and residential divisions. Have you seen Mirvac's sustainability strategy? It's bold, relevant and diverse. There's a lot to love. Also innovation, gender equality, its integrated building model.

Cons

    • The company is very large and sometimes I feel myself being left out of the loop as a young graduate.

    • Such a large company Wearing formal attire

    • Uninspiring projects.

    • The only concern I have about working at Mirvac is that there is no short line of vertical progression. I see lots of areas to move to horizontally, to learn and to build on my expertise, though my own team is small. There is value in this as well, so it feels strange to say it's the 'worst' thing about working here.
