Pros and cons of working at William Buck

Pros

  • The best thing about working at William Buck is the other people you work with. Everybody in the office greets you with a smile and genuinely wants to get to know you.

  • The workplace culture of William Buck has been extremely positive in my short time with the firm. Everyone is positive, upbeat, and happy to help or engage where appropriate.

  • "I believe that in terms of learning, William Buck is hard to match, and I am very satisfied with what I have been taught and trained.

  • My managers are very accessible, friendly and great at teaching. As dictated by the nature our work processes, we engage heavily with our managers, enabling more opportunities for learning and development as well as general bonding. Feedback is generally constructive with the ultimate aim of teaching instead of reprimanding.

  • here is a clear progression map from when you start... merit is rewarded and that the effort employees put into their work do not go unrecognized or unnoticed.

Cons

    • Hours can be long and sometimes it’s hard to disconnect, but that is more of an industry thing rather than specific to WB.

    • The only real problem I have encountered so far is tech issues.

    • Being a grad means no flexibility to work from home until after the probation period.

    • After-hours work is limited only to the busy season (though recently I have stayed back more than usual to get projects out to clients).

    • There does sometimes feel as though there is a lack of processes and frameworks in place, but it also gives room for initiative and freedom.
