In terms of my day-to-day work, I love learning how to spot the trends, risks or concerns within a set of financial statements and being able to present that to a reviewer and/or the client.
In my opinion, a role in auditing is best suited for someone with an accounting/finance background. It is important to have an understanding of audit standards and a basic knowledge of accounting.
Being an inexperienced miner, my mentors while underground always ensured I felt safe, explained the tasks they were completing, and answered any questions I had about the operational side of things.
