In terms of my day-to-day work, I love learning how to spot the trends, risks or concerns within a set of financial statements and being able to present that to a reviewer and/or the client.

In my opinion, a role in auditing is best suited for someone with an accounting/finance background. It is important to have an understanding of audit standards and a basic knowledge of accounting.

Being an inexperienced miner, my mentors while underground always ensured I felt safe, explained the tasks they were completing, and answered any questions I had about the operational side of things.

I’ve found creating templates and configuring software to be fulfilling, as I know the work I’m contributing to will be a great help for our customers and consultants.

As a development engineer, you will be rotating through different areas of the business. So it is essential that you have an open mind, are willing to learn, and enjoy meeting new people and tackling diverse challenges.
